Our focus at the Stained Glass Learning Center is on teaching.  We will help you learn how to create stained glass art.  It is our experience that just about anyone can create beautiful stained glass pieces.  
Take a class and find out how fun and easy creating stained glass art can be.  All you need is a basic set of tools, some supplies, a couple hours of instruction and practice. Before you know it, you will have completed your first stained glass project and you will have gained the knowledge to create other beautiful pieces of stained glass art.

Beginning Stained Glass Classes are taught at various locations in the Houston, Katy & The Woodlands areas all year long. 

The total cost of our Beginners' Class is $199, (with nothing more to buy). 
We now offer team building classes.  Just give us a call and we will tailor a class to meet your needs.

Beginners' Stained Glass Class  In our 4 session  beginners’ stained glass class; students learn the techniques used for creating beautiful stained glass art using the copper foil method.  In this class students are given step-by-step instructions in stained glass safety, pattern preparation, glass cutting, copper foiling, soldering and finishing a stained glass piece. In this class you complete two projects, a small project and then a larger project selected to challenge your newly learned skills. Class is 2.5 hours a week for 4 weeks, usually on the same day.  Now remember there is nothing more to buy, all tools and supplies are included in one low price.

HILLYER'S GREAT WORK
Intermediate Stained Glass Workshop
$175 - Includes 4 Classes, Basic Tools & Supplies.
You just finished our 4 session beginners’ stained glass class and now you are a full fledged "Glassaholic", this is the class you do next.  This class is in a workshop setting where you decide what you would like to create, and Julia and I will help you make it.  Although, we have standard patterns to choose from, you are also invited to bring your own, we want you to challenge yourself, but not be overwhelmed.  Since students in this class are more independent, you do not receive step-by-step instructions like in our beginners class, but we assist you whenever help is needed.

AN INTRODUCTION TO FUSED GLASS
Only $199 for two sessions
CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED, CALL TODAY


We call this a "Make & Bake" class, the focus of this class is to introduce you to fused glass and have some fun.  We begin with exercises in glass cutting, then, using your new found skills, you will design and create at least two fused items.  This class is intended to be a hands-on introduction to glass fusing, and not an in-depth study.  Topics included in this class, are design basics, straight and curved cuts, use of tools, studio safety,glass and glass compatibility.

Intermediate Class:

The Intermediate Workshop is the follow up to Beginning Stained Glass Class. Since students have obtained a basic knowledge of working with glass, they choose what projects they would like to create, and we provided guidance and input on an individual basis.

About the Instructors

The owners of the SGLC Houston, LLC, have taught hundreds of students over the years.  They understand that students not only want to learn a new skill, but they would like to have fun also.  Therefore our classes are not only filled with learning, but with laughter.  It has been our experience that just about anyone can create beautiful stained glass pieces.  We invite you to take a class and find out how fun and easy creating stained glass art can be.                                                              

                                                                                                         The Small Print

1. We use lead and chemicals in creating stained glass, therefore if you are pregnant or breastfeeding we will gladly postpone your class until it is safe.  We also work with sharp glass, they call Stained Glass the "Hobby you bleed for", it is not a joke, be careful.  

2. To participate in any of our classes, a WAIVER TO RELEASE LIABILITY is required to be signed by all students and/or their legal guardian.

3. Class make-up fee. If you miss a class and would like to make up the session, there will be a $10 class make up fee.

4. All sales are final.  Class Fees, Gift Certificates, Vouchers and Equipment Purchases are all non-refundable.  If you purchase a class that you or the person you purchased the class for are unable to attend, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance and we will gladly re-schedule your class.  If the class change is due to an emergency, we will gladly re-schedule your class also.

5. Because The Stained Glass Learning Center occasionally offers extra discounts or purchase incentives, pricing on our class offerings is only available at the time the order is placed. Pricing adjustments will not be made for previous orders based on past or future promotions or sale prices.

6.  Please be advised that classes may be cancelled or rescheduled due to low enrollment or classroom availability.  

7. Gift Certificates or Vouchers always have a value.  The purchase price of an expired Gift Certificate or Voucher can be used as a credit for a new class.
